ACen "report"
Yeah it's not much since I didn't take any pictures (except a handful of dollies) so you will have to make up your own visual aids. I was only there part of Friday and part of Saturday, even though I expected to be there longer. Traumatized the dog by leaving with a suitcase twice and coming home. But it was the most I could manage. Definitely not feeling great today, keep getting weird waves of nausea, may need to bring that up with the endo on Thurs re: possible adrenal insufficiency (and need to go take some more Tylenol, stupid incisions are *really* hurting).
The Good:
~ Not missing the con entirely.
~
komori_tifa,
andrewsp37,
rocklee2344,
shadrad, and
dizziness. Also other people I don't exactly know lol. <3 Didn't get to say proper goodbyes to anyone. :\ BUT IT'S NOT REALLY GOODBYE RIGHT
~ Mecha panel of much epic, nice doll meet on the floor.
~ Amatsuki artbook at last :D (I only bought that and Saiyuki Reload 9.)
~ Saw some Zetsubou-senseis, a Spyro, and the Legends of the Hidden Temple cosplayers
~ ZERO negative IRT run-ins! I'm not saying there weren't any, but I didn't have any. The lady who asked the doll meet to scrunch Saturday night did so incredibly politely.
The Bad:~ Missed the fashion show . . . and a bunch of panels I was going to go to.
~ Okay actually: Missing most of the con.
~ Feeling terrible for what I was there for. Apparently there is not enough caffeine in the universe, cause damned if I didn't give it a go; any more and I'd have vibrated out of this reality.
~ Not seeing a number of people I wanted to. :( I really couldn't wander the con for chance run-ins. And of course people who couldn't come, as well.
~ Really wanted to take cosplayer photos with the Brick of Doom Smaug the D90 and was not remotely up to it. :(
~ Mystery hole in the front of my brand new (well used new) h. naoto shirt. T_T
~ Confusing program books, what?
The Weird:
~ Guy in wheelchair, wearing a V for Vendetta mask, holding a boombox blaring bagpipe music.
~ Cosplayer (Yukino from Kare-kano) seriously rocking out on electric guitar in the parking lot behind the convention center. (WHY did I not stop to video this)
~ People standing in line like two hours before the rave. Isn't calmly standing in an organized queue for a rave oddly oxymoronic? (Also, nearly SDCC-level line . . . for the Soap Bubble? Color me amused. Because, obviously, you can't dance to techno anywhere else. SIDEWALK RAVE EVERYBODY)
Well, cheers to enjoying what you can, and to the road to getting better not being quite as long, dark and lonely as the one becoming sick. My cell phone horoscope yesterday promised good things so you know it's true.
