chipmunk adventures
Sorry for . . . whatever, I'm only just barely able to tolerate this medication dose still. Hopefully it will improve soon. I'm not to go down again for at least another week (basically each time I go down I'm going to feel worse again). But I promised illustrated chipmunk stories; I shall deliver. I took these in a light drizzle/through glass, so they're not great, but I did what I could.
So a while ago my mom was trying to order peanuts to roast and accidentally ordered ones in shells. We decided maybe if we threw some out on the deck, some of the critters would come "take care of" the "problem". When we came back by, they were already gone. So we put some more out.
This time we got a pretty good idea where they went.
This is one of the two backyard chipmunks (there's one in the front, also). This is probably the one who likes to sit on the planter and chirp.
(Later on he did this right in front of the door, staring at us)
"I IS INVISIBLES LIEK NINJA"
That's right, we totally didn't see you shove that nut in your cheek.
In fact, no one will be able to tell you even HAVE a nut. (He hasn't had success getting more than one and a half in his mouth; but he did do that and get another full one like a barbell.)
"disposing of the evidence" on his front porch (he has a hole in the planter right there). It takes a lot longer to eat them than get them; the shells are off incredibly fast, but apparently the nuts are a bit of work with wee teeth. Nevertheless he can do a handful of nuts in about 30 minutes. He did seem to be putting some of them in his hole.
"I know u has more nuts in there O_O"
"NOW I WILL BE EMO"
We didn't put any nuts out today but he had a walnut sitting out there so I think he's doing okay. We MAY have to buy more shelled nuts though because he's definitely disappointed when they're gone XD; He definitely is aware that the nuts magically appear after the door opens; he runs away when we do it, but comes back fairly quickly. He's not at all freaked out by people inside watching him; in fact, he got so close against the window, the camera couldn't focus.
Since you're here, help yourself to some girls playing a giant piano.
