Yes I'm quite late. No, it's not likely to get read. But here you go anyway.
Read-along photos at Flickr, click to begin (first photo is boring, starting with this one lol):

Because Flickr Uploadr was having some kind of issue, the photos are NOT in order in the photostream; you must use the Set navigation.

Yeah it's not much since I didn't take any pictures (except a handful of dollies) so you will have to make up your own visual aids. I was only there part of Friday and part of Saturday, even though I expected to be there longer. Traumatized the dog by leaving with a suitcase twice and coming home. But it was the most I could manage. Definitely not feeling great today, keep getting weird waves of nausea, may need to bring that up with the endo on Thurs re: possible adrenal insufficiency (and need to go take some more Tylenol, stupid incisions are *really* hurting).

the good news is, it's really short! :P  )

Well, cheers to enjoying what you can, and to the road to getting better not being quite as long, dark and lonely as the one becoming sick. My cell phone horoscope yesterday promised good things so you know it's true.

I finished uploading San Diego Comic-con 2008 photos. Mostly represents: the Squeenix booth, Spaced panel, Venture Brothers and Robot Chicken, Mystery Science Theater 3000 20th anniversary panel, Chuck panel, and Mythbusters panel. I believe some people have been waiting on Mythbusters. I wish I had more good ones but between my camera issues and the fact that I'm quite sure panel photos are an art form . . . did what I could. I guess I'll do the crash course version report tomorrow so they're not in a total vacuum.

Now my Tylenol has worn off and I am relentlessly being chased by a mosquito so I'm going to bed. I guess I can finish deciding what to use my Sideshow gift card on tomorrow (must...resist...lifesize right hand of doom...)

. . . what was I going to say? Oh yeah. Assuming I can stay awake long enough to do the code, this is my D*C trip photo post. I'm almost done with my report except I can't remember what happened which evening. >_>;

World of Coke trip photos are on Flickr here; Dragon*Con photos are here.

My camera, incidentally, is getting progressively more insane. Or I've been screwing up with manual more and more. Either way I did my best. :(

Dude another spider just descended in front of my face . . . what? Decidedly getting WEIRD. Leaving for SDCC in the morning. Ditching out of Sunday, alas, changed my flight, need more time - am I seriously leaving for Japan next Thursday? GAH.

If there is a specific fandom/show/movie you would like freebies for you think they will have - please give me a heads-up. No promises but I will pick up things that I wouldn't otherwise if I see them.

I had a quick look at the schedule last night, there is some brutal cross-scheduling this year and some panels I am going to have to fight like hell to get into - I think I will be spending serious quality time outside of 6B, and I can't *imagine* how they think that divided 6 is anywhere near large enough for Simon Pegg/Edgar Wright, the 20th anniv. MST3K, or Mythbusters panels (not the same panel, that would kick ass though?). And probably screw Heroes again this year because even in Hall H I'd have to be there like 3 hours early at least . . .

uh just fyi mainly for poor [info]blood_sorbet, a lot of panels are x-scheduled or too close because of line time, half the time you can't get into stuff you want anyway :P Even for smaller panels I usually get there way early. So even if you ARE there you often can't go >_

Lawl. I need to call it something less . . . formal. I'm a cosplay photographer so exclusive, you've never even heard of me. Since Flickr breaks things up strangely, I wanted to repost these in more minimal format. I will be quiet for a while now. @_@

I would like to do more photography, but . . . I don't know. I can't really put myself out there to do shoots, there are more than enough talented people already; I don't have much to offer. But for the moment, if it's of use or entertainment to my friends, there you go. It'd be great to do some shoots not at a con, the lighting drives me bananas. D:

I said I'd finish it and I like to keep my word (especially when I make promises to myself). And yes I am processing the stuff from last year even now (the dinner photos). No one is going to read all this . . .

Panel photos are now uploaded to the SDCC photoset, they should be in order now (I think I fixed it?), so I'd recommend opening that up while you read.

Wednesday: Preview Night )

Thursday: Paramount and Lost )

Friday: Pixar shorts, Stargate(s) )

Saturday: Masquerade )

Sunday/Monday )

I know I should have a wrap-up of some kind, but most of the shout-outs would go to people who don't read this journal anyway. XD; Maybe just ask me about it.

Putting up swag photos now while I work on my report! I thought at the very least you'd want to see the promotional posters, since some of those are newly released designs. I have to do some more cleaning tonight so it will probably be late-ish.

mm swag.  )

Shout-outs to my awesome roommates, about half of whom I do not have LJ names for. Apologies to the people I didn't wind up seeing. And a big "I missed you" to the people who couldn't be there. I didn't manage my time very well at the con, and managed to leave home without my sheet of phone numbers, though I have no real excuse for being so fried. (I admit to having a strong suspicion it's partly medication-related and I hope that will be corrected soon, though I couldn't get an appointment with someone new until the end of July.) [info]13th_kingdom or [info]saeru, shoot me a PayPal addy or send me your mailing address so I can send you a check. I also forgot to ask you about the poster tube I left behind. >_<; Um and who knows what else I'm forgetting so if you do, remind me please.

I went down to Rosemont today for a few hours to hang out at the Stargate convention, saw Jason Momoa (Ronan Dex on Atlantis) and Michael Shanks (Daniel Jackson on SG-1). I haven't been to a Creation event since that last X-Files con I did, which was probably . . . 1996? They were both very entertaining, I just got the cheapest ticket I could. I won't go into details since I don't think there are many fans here; if you want to know, you can grab me on AIM of course. I did feel a little bizarre there, not my usual crowd, lol. Everyone was all decked out in Stargate apparel and stuff. The whole convention - "vendor room" and all - was one ballroom. XD

It was a weird way to learn a piece of news, which I admit I should probably have known before I got there - Stargate SG-1 has been cancelled. It was announced just this Monday, which is pretty damned ironic considering last Friday they aired their 200th episode, and officially became the longest running sci-fi series on US television (the world record for longest running SF show is, of course, held by Doctor Who). Atlantis, fortunately, HAS been renewed for the upcoming season. Interested parties can read more at Gateworld. I will add that Michael Shanks said today that, while he does not know the legal ins-and-outs, he doesn't think that the info about the contract with MGM preventing the show from airing on another network is true.

Of course, as all Farscape fans know, the programming executives at Sci-Fi all keep their heads permanently lodged in a very dark place. It's amazing SG-1 made it five years on their network (the first five were on Showtime), and got a spinoff.

Is there hope for science fiction television? And does anybody know how on earth the executives are gauging whether people watch a show live or not?
